The highest risk associated with VOC-contaminated soil is its impact on the quality of indoor and ambient air. VOCs are harmful to the health of local residents,as well as on-site employees.
On the basis of our expertise with MIP GC-MS measurements, we have developed a modified method for carrying out gas analyses. Here we go into the field to analyse the soil gas, indoor air, as well as the ambient air or industrial gas flows at the site itself.

We use Vapor Pins ™ or soil gas probes to sample the soil gas. By capturing the air in gas bags or by directly connecting it to the GC-MS, we are able to instantly measure individual VOCs in unsaturated zones. This way we are able to very quickly investigate where, for example, the source zone of a soil contamination is located and to plan any subsequent instigations with a better focus. For example, we apply this approach as an initial phase, prior to a detailed investigation using MIP GC-MS.
On the other hand, the On-site GC-MS Analysis is extremely well suited to monitoring VOCs within indoor or ambient air. The analysis of individual components makes it possible to anticipate the highly divergent limit values of air pollution and take focused measures accordingly.
The extensive sampling system also makes it possible to subsequently use the GC-MS to monitor various gas lines from the different sampling points.
